ALS Muscle Champion, Damon Church, Honored in the Boro!
EDINBORO, PA - What an amazing night on 1/16/2016! Edinboro University of Pennsylvania Wrestling Team joined the MMF for the second consecutive year. The Scots are wrestling with a purpose to "Pin Muscle Disease" this season for a very special individual.
ALS Muscle Champion, Damon Church, a longtime fan of the BORO Wrestling Team was honored at the team's home match against George Mason. BORO asked Damon to sing the national anthem before the start of the match! Damon was ecstatic about the offer and excited to show off his years as a country singer. Despite Damon's muscle weakness and paralysis, Damon put on an astonishing performance! He continues to define the odds against ALS two and half years after his diagnosis, continuing what he enjoys most!
"I was diagnosed with ALS two and a half years ago. It has been a fight everyday to challenge myself with the weakness of my limbs. There is no cure so far, but that's not stopping me cause I've always been a fighter. I know God has a purpose for my life."
We are pleased to have such a wonderful staff, team, and university on board with the MMF for the 2nd consecutive year. Special thanks to Coach Tim Flynn, Coach Cliff Moore, and Edinboro Wrestling for embracing our cause, and representing for ALS Muscle Champion, Damon Church!
